From a young age, Fran was fascinated with leadership. Specifically, how it works best, how it can elevate a team from just OK to truly amazing, and most importantly: how it can be improved.
From watching her father as a child, playing team sports as a teen, or starting her own business as a young adult and mother, she spent a lifetime learning the strategies that make a good leader great, and how they align with their vision, purpose, and principles.
Applying these strategies to her own life seemed like the obvious way to become the distinctive businesswoman she knew she was meant to be. So, when she joined the corporate world and began working with larger companies, it frustrated her time and time again to see leaders out of alignment.
The effects of this misalignment were immediately apparent. A lack of trust and communication, high employee turnover rates, and a slowdown in creativity were among the most visible.
And the worst part? It wasn’t just one company seeing these issues. It almost seemed as though the larger a corporation got, the more disconnected the leadership was…and the more disastrous the outcomes could be.
Fran set immediately to figuring out why this was happening, and how she could help rectify it. Overwhelmingly, the answer was the same: leadership was focused only on the financial aspects of the company’s growth, moving away from their foundational principles in favor of profits.
An innovator and educator since birth, it was Fran’s natural reaction to create a program that would help these leaders reconnect to their foundation, and in turn improve their companies.
Drawing on these experiences coupled with the work of her Masters’ thesis, Fran developed four integrated principles for a positive, constructive Leadership Foundation: Trust, Emotional Intelligence, Servant Leadership, and Chaos Management.
